Mercedes-Benz has announced the unveiling of its next-generation luxury flagship 2014 S-Class later this month at the 2012 Paris Motor Show while its official debut is scheduled early sometime next year.

A substantial image of the next generation S-Class isn't available yet but the Mercedes-Benz design team teases us with a revealing 'Aesthetics S' solid sculpture, providing us with first impressions of what to expect.

Mercedes 'Aesthetics' sculptures were first used to preview the CLS four-door coupe. Now, the German automaker intends to continue 'Aesthetics' art pieces to demonstrate the styling directions of upcoming Mercedes-Benz models to come.

Mercedes-Benz chief designer Gorden Wagener explained, "The Mercedes-Benz S Class has always impressed with its timeless design, which has existed for decades and has always pointed the way ahead. The sculpture is a continuation of this, and sets the scene for the development of a new S-Class."

The next S-Class promises to offer larger dimensions and a significantly more upscale luxurious interior. Powertrain offerings will remain familiar save the S63 AMG model, which will use a new twin-turbocharged 5.5 liter V8 powerplant. What's more, a plug-in hybrid variant is expected down the pipeline as well, mirroring technologies first previewed in the 2009 Vision S500 concept.

Per its reputation, the new S-Class will also be offering a bucketload of new technology that will eventually trickle down into lesser Benz models in the future. Technical highlights include a new user interface system, a new road-scanning active suspension, as well as an innovative autonomous driving assist.
