After Penske drivers Will Power and Juan Pablo Montoya managed to claim pole for the first two races of the 2015 IndyCar season, Long Beach pole belonged to Helio Castroneves, making it the third Penske driver in as many races to start at the front of the grid.

“I tell you what, the AAA machine was on rails,” Helio Castroneves said. “Being pole position with the teammates I have, it’s like a victory. Fantastic guys. It’s paying off. One day it’ll be my day, one day another one. From the beginning of the weekend until now, we’re chipping away.”

As a testament to the domination of the Penske Team this season, Juan Pablo Montoya will begin tomorrow's 2015 IndyCar Long Beach Grand Prix from second. Scott Dixon, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Simon Pagenaud and Josef Newgarden complete the Fast Six.

Next, Tony Kanaan will begin in seventh, Graham Rahal in eighth, Sebastien Bourdais in ninth, and finally Marco Andretti in the top 10.

Unfortunately, while both Helio Castroneves and Will Power made a good showing in the Fast Six for the Long Beach Grand Prix, Will Power had an awful start to the weekend when a Turn 4 crash by Stefano Coletti during Q1 resulted to a premature end to the session. Several cars, including POwers, failed to set a time.

“I turned the engine down and coasted,” Power said. “It’s gonna be tough. You know how these IndyCar races go. We gotta be positive and hopefully the yellow falls our way.”

Despite the 18th starting position setback, let's not forget that Powers managed to claw back a victory despite a start from 12th three years ago.
