Mexican singer Alejandro Fernandez asked US$300,000 to the Dominican Republic television station, Telemicro to appear and perform at a concert they were hosting. According to Forbes magazine, the artist's fortune was valued at 27 million dollars in 2016.

The celebration is an annual show to celebrate the network's anniversary, but this year, the owner of the company, Juan Ramón Gómez Díaz, rolled out the red carpet to one of the great Ranchera music interpreters.

On the occasion, the famous network, which has strong alliances with Univision and Televisa, signed "El Potrillo" to perform in front of 40 thousand people at this event that is usually free of charge for the audience.

According to the Dominican Republic's local media, the contract also stipulated that his performance could not be televised, as it normally happens with stars of this nature. The singer stayed in the presidential suite at the renowned Jaragua Hotel.

Fernández's presentation closed the event held in the nation’s Félix Sánchez Olympic stadium, where everyone in attendance had the opportunity to enjoy the complete repertoire of his songs. Fernández was presented to the audience by Raul de Molina and Clarissa Molina from the TV show "El Gordo y La Flaca."

The singer delighted those present with his well known songs; “Quiero que vuelvas,” “Canta corazón,” “Me dediqué a perderte,” “Si tú supieras,” “Yo no sé olvidar” and “Sé que te duele.” With more than 10 musicians dressed as charros on stage, Alejandro also sang "Guadalajara," an original song of his father Vicente Fernandez.

In 2014, when the 18th anniversary of Telemicro was celebrated, Marc Anthony allegedly asked for US$500,000 for his performance and his contract had clauses that left between the lines the possibility of being broadcast on television, according to the website Imagenes Dominicanas.

If for future celebrations, the Telemicro group wants to hire interpreters like Luis Miguel, they would have to pay US $950K.
