The Producers Guild Award ceremony took place last night in LA’s Hyatt Regency Century Plaza, where not only producers were present, but several stars like Jennifer Lawrence, Kyera Knightley, Eddie Redmayne, America Ferrera, Christian Serratos, Edward Norton, amongst others, went to show their support. The awards are known to carry a specific importance for Oscar frontrunners, as they are well known ‘Oscar indicators.’ For the last seven years the film that’s won the PGA has also (maybe coincidentally) won the top prize at the Academy Awards.

After seeing Richard Linklater’s “Boyhood” sore at the Critic’s Choice Awards and win Best Drama and Best Director at the Golden Globes, most were going back and forth on whether Iñárritu’s “Birdman” would take the big prize home or if “Boyhood” would continue sweeping this award season. As it turned out last night, “Birdman” took its producers, Alejandro G. Iñárritu, John Lesher and James W. Skotchdopole, to new heights by receiving the night’s biggest honor, and therefore potentially taking the lead of the Best Picture race at the Oscars.

Surprisingly, “The Lego Movie” took the Award for Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures, after being snubbed at the Oscar nominations. See the complete list of winners below:
