Donald Trump's favorite Miss Universe is pregnant! Amelia Vega, who won the crown in 2003, revealed today she’s expecting her first child with husband, Atlanta Hawks player Al Horford. Vega and Horford married secretly in Christmas 2011 at the residence of Amelia’s uncle, famous Dominican singer/songwriter/composer Juan Luis Guerra, in a ceremony that surprised many, since it wasn’t even clear that the two were dating at the time. Immediately after the wedding, rumors began swirling that the former Miss Universe was pregnant and that’s why they hurried to tie the knot.
Amelia denied it, saying “time will prove you wrong” and it did. No one really understood why the urge to get married so quickly, but the couple just said that due to their tight schedules, and the NBA season, this was the only chance they had. Many skepticals placed their bets on when the marriage was going to end, but Amelia and Al have only proved people wrong, ultimately revealing the greatest proof of their love: their first child together.
Amelia is about four months pregnant and announced the arrival of her baby via Instagram. She posted a funny picture of herself and Al blowing bubbles with gum with the message “Expecting to Pop!” The two are holding hands, wearing jeans and t-shirts. Horford’s says “Daddy” and Amelia’s reveal the gender of the baby. “Boy oh Boy,” it says, confirming we might have a future basketball player amongst us very soon! “With great joy we announce that we are expecting our first son. A beautiful gift that we will gladly receive from our Heavenly Father in March, 2015,” she captioned the picture unable to contain her excitement.
