The final game of the 2014 Liga MX season is sure to be a dramatic thriller as two evenly matched teams meet in the Estadio Azteca on Sunday for what is sure to be a match for the ages. Tigres defeated America 1-0 in the first leg on Thursday night in Monterrey, thanks to a second half header by Joffre Guerron. Tigres now only need to keep a clean sheet again against America and they will not only extend their unbeaten streak to 16 games, but they will win the Liga MX title for the 4th time.

Club America is seeking an unprecedented 12th Liga MX title which would surpass the record currently held by Chivas Guadalajara. America will have to come out aggressive and look to push the pace early unlike the game on Thursday in Monterrey. America will most certainly seek out that goal, which will open space and counter attacking opportunities for Tigres. If America can net the one goal in the match, they can either go for the win with a second goal, or sit back and play for extra time and penalty kicks.

America has a more potent offense with the combination of Miguel Layun and Oribe Peralta and certainly are capable of scoring goals in bunches as they proved in their 3-0 victory over the Monterrey Rayados in the first leg of their semifinal match last week.

The oddsmakers in Las Vegas like Club America by a hair in this match, but essentially they deem the teams even. Club America has a ½ goal home advantage with the odds nearly dead even at -120 and -110 respectively. Interestingly, Tigres de la UANL has a +325 moneyline which would suggest that Vegas believes Tigres will sit back on their heels and try not to score while focusing all their attention on not conceding a goal. With America having to press early and often to push for that goal, Tigres will have plenty of open space and counter attacking possibilities that could net a goal and an upset victory outright on the moneyline for Tigres. The over/under has shrank with Tigres clinging to a one-goal advantage down to 2 from 2.5 where it was on Thursday.

We like the under here and think Club America could win on the moneyline with a predicted final score in regulation of 1-0. We like Tigres to lift the cup and a small bet at +325 odds might be worth the risk if Tigres can score on the counter attack. The odds for the match are below and tell us who you think will lift the trophy and be crowned the champions of Mexico in our poll below.
