"American Horror Story: Coven" premieres tonight on FX, and fans are in for a witchy delight! If you haven't heard about the new Coven in town get ready, because Season 3 of "American Horror Story" centers on a group of witches in New Orleans. But, the paranormal fun certainly doesn't stop there, "American Horror Story: Coven" also features a group of powerful voodoo priestesses. As if you weren't excited for the supernatural series, brace yourselves because the premiere episode of Season 3 is entitled "Bitchcraft" and we don't think witchcraft is going to be the only issue in tonight's episode!
"Bitchcraft" will begin by providing the audience with a serious history lesson in the occult. The Coven is now living in New Orleans during the present day, but we also learn a lot about the Coven's past. The witches escaped persecution at the Salem Witch Trials in 1830, however now there is a new force threatening their safety. Voodoo vs. magic will be an important theme; and fans will soon to either love or hate Marie Laveau, the 19th century centenarian known as the Voodoo Queen of New Orleans. So who is the big bad witch that will face off against Laveau, that would be Fiona, the Coven's long absent Supreme. Fiona is "the most powerful witch of her generation" and is back in New Orleans to protect the witches, thus discovering the "Coven's deadly enemies, the Voodoo."
Fiona isn't the only one back in tow, in the premiere episode "Bitchcraft," A young girl named Zoe has recently discovered "she possesses a strange genetic affliction tracing back to the dark days of Salem." Zoe discovers her startling abilities after having sex for the first time; the teen accidentally kills her boyfriend. After Zoe discovers she has startling abilities, she is sent to Miss Robichaux's Academy for Exceptional Young Ladies in New Orleans.
