"American Horror Story" Season 3 is about to get some serious star power, because the white witch is coming to town. Fleetwood Mac's front woman, Stevie Nicks, earned herself a guest spot on the third season of the FX mini series, and now "Coven" fans are able to get their first sneak peek at Nicks on the set of "American Horror Story" in New Orleans. Series co-creator, Ryan Murphy, posted the sneak peek photo on Twitter, writing, "She's here! Stevie Nicks on the set of Coven!"
And while her fans may know the iconic musician as the "white witch" it seems like Nicks' character is donning the Coven's signature black. Murphy's photograph shows Nick's within the walls of Miss Robichaux's Academy, so what role will she be playing on "American Horror Story?" In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Murphy revealed that Nicks will be appearing as herself. While Nicks has not yet appeared on the show, her music has been featured in multiple scenes. In addition, one of the main characters and potentially the next Supreme of the Coven formed a deep connection with Stevie Nicks. Misty Day, lives isolated in the bayous of Louisiana, with only her music to keep her company, Nicks becomes her coven.
Murphy revealed to EW that Nicks will be introduced to the series as "part of Fiona's ruse." Fiona is currently the coven's Supreme witch; she is aging, however not gracefully. Fiona is desperate to keep her Supreme powers and regain her youth and vitality. In her quest for ultimate and sustainable power, Fiona has viciously slaughtered other witches of the Coven, and it seems Misty is her next intended victim. Murphy described Fiona's continuing mission for power in Coven's tenth episode, "Fiona is trying to get the true Supreme to reveal herself because she needs to stay alive. So she tells Misty Day that the Supreme gets so many great things in life, like tickets to the Oscars and Met Ball tickets. " After paying a visit to the earthy Misty, Fiona realizes that unlike most young girls she has alternative interests, mainly Stevie Nicks. After learning about Misty's obsession with the rumored witch, "she brings Stevie Nicks in as a gift to Misty to prove to her that if she exhibits more power she'll get that and more."
And while we are thrilled for Nicks' guest spot on episode 10 of "American Horror Story," Fiona's plan may back fire, Murphy explained that "the other girls come home and see Stevie and Misty singing and it starts them trying to move much quicker to prove that they are the Supreme." Uh oh! With these young witches clamoring for power and even more abilities, Fiona's coveted title may leave her sooner than she anticipated!
