This year, Drake continues to flourish and even reach legendary status because of his pop-laden project, Views. After delivering a monstrous album, he went on tour with Future for his Summer Sixteen, and crushed a bevy of features. Now, it appears that Drake is touching Michael Jackson status, after obliterating MJ's 32-year-old-record and nabbing 13 nominations for his American Music Awards.

Originally, in 1984, Michael Jackson earned 11 nominations for his magnum opus, Thriller. This year, Drake is up for Artist of the Year, Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Album, Favorite Rap Artist, Favorite Pop/Rock Artist, Favorite Rap Song, Favorite R&B Song, among six other categories.
