Ana Brenda and Salma Hayek are using their star power to benefit the victims of the earthquake that hit México and left more than 200 people dead. Both actresses have opened crowdsourcing accounts for people to donate money and in turn they will make sure the funds reach all of those affected by the natural disaster. In the case of the "Lo Imperdonable" star, she initially set a goal of $10,000, but has surpassed it in less than 24 hours and so far has collected close to $40,000.
"Hi, I'm Ana Brenda and I am an actress that lives in the city of Mexico," she wrote on the GoFundMe site. "I saw the catastrophe in the Roma neighborbood and saw how much help is needed. I am starting a campaign to help our beloved Mexico on this sad day. Please help. I will be buying supplies and personally delivering them. I will show proof of receipts on social networks. We need to unite. Love you. Ana."
Ana Brenda was touched by the success of the campaign and updated her followers with the following note: "Good morning everybody. Help is needed fast. Thank you all for your donations I am profoundly moved. I know I said I would donate it to the Red Cross but supply is needed fast. I hope you don't get upset that I go buy supply and personally deliver your donations. I will upload receipts and proof of everything."

Salma Hayek is also doing her part as she opened an account on CrowdRise, which is part of GoFundMe to help her native country Mexico after the devastating earthquakes. Hayek also donated $100,000 to the campaign. “The people of my country have now suffered three natural disasters in a row,” said Hayek on her campaign. “Many children and families are hurt and in terrible need. I'm contributing $100,000 now to UNICEF which has teams on the ground responding. Please join me and contribute what you can and thank you.”
The "Beatriz At Dinner" star has raised over $160,000 in less than a day with more than 1,200 people contributing. On Hayek's Instagram account she shared her experience about living through the 1985 quake first hand where she lost an uncle. "After the 1985 earthquake in México City I was evacuated from my building," she said in an emotional video. "A lot of friends died, including an uncle that was very close to me. I have lived through the aftermath of a disaster of this magnitude and it's horrific. I am starting a CrowdRise to try to raise money to help the families that are going through this nightmare. I implore to your hearts, to the goodness of your hearts, to your compassion, to help... anything that you can give will make a big difference."
