According to the National Hurricane Center's latest public advisory issued on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. EDT, Hurricane Sandy is approximately 395 miles (635 km) south of New York City with maximum sustained winds of 75 mph (120 km/h) and moving north east at about 10 mph (17 km/h). read more
