Are Mermaids Real? Sea Being Appears On Shores Of Mexico Causing Controversy [PHOTOS]

Several photos have been floating around social networking sites stirring up controversy that mermaids are real! The pics of course are grainy but do showcase a scaley humanoid being with translucent skin, the top half of a human and bottom half of a fish on the beaches of Pajapan, Veracruz. This raises the question are mermaids real? 

Well unfortunately the answer is no. Though the pictures are convincing it was recently revealed that the creature is infact a siren created by the special effects team for "Pirates of the Caribbean." 

Furthermore a video character creation for "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Strange Tides" starring Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom show off the creation of the sirens. Check it out below:
