Apple's next generation iPhone might boast a larger-sized screen if the latest rumor becomes a reality. According to Chinese site C Technology, the Cupertino tech company has begun testing a new iPhone with a 4.9-inch display, along with the iPhone 5c successor. Rumors for a larger screen on the mobile device is not new as larger-screen phones become more popular. A similar report came about this week regarding the iPad and according to The Korea Times, "The 12.9-inch iPad will have improved picture quality. Speculation of a larger sized tabled is not new as rumors of a bigger screen iPad have always been rampant. In July of this year, The Wall Street Journal reported that the Cupertino company was testing larger screens for iPhones and iPads. "In recent months, Apple has asked for prototype smartphone screens larger than 4 inches and has also asked for screen designs for a new tablet device measuring slightly less than 13 inches diagonally, they said. The current iPhone 5 has a four-inch screen, while the iPad has a 9.7-inch screen. The iPad Mini, a stripped-down version of its tablet computer, has a 7.9-inch screen." In other Apple news, the Apple TV was been updated to include two new channels, Yahoo! Screen and PBS. The set-top box has included an app for Yahoo! Screen which is full of video clips from television shows and online resources. NBC's "Saturday Night Live" sketch show has a subchannel in the service where the best bits are made available for everyone to enjoy a day after they air. Sub-channels also include videos from Comedy Central, Martha Steweart, The Onion, Vogue, Popsugar, Wired, GQ and ABC News. It is a great addition to the Apple TV lineup that will entice holiday shoppers to gift this to friends and family. The U.S. public television system, PBS, also has a place in the new lineup which inclides over 5,000 hours of content. To enjoy the programming, users will have to sign in with Facebook, Google+ or their online PBS account, which give them access to their local PBS affiliate.
