Is Brian Griffin Really Dead?
Is Brian Griffin Really Dead? FOX

Brian Griffin has caused grievance after his unexpected death on the "Family Guy" episode titled "Life of Brian" that aired this past Sunday. We have signed petitions to reverse the storyline, we have thought of ways to integrate him back into Quahog and we have mourned his loss by remembering his best bits on the animated show. Seth MacFarlane, creator and the actor who voiced the dog, ecently talked to The Hollywood Reporter and said that he was waiting for fans to lose interest on the show as he feels it should have ended a long time ago. Seth said, "I talk to the fans and in a way I’m kind of secretly hoping for them to say we’re done with it. There are plenty of people who say the show is kind of over the hill…but the vast majority go pale in the face when I mention the possibility." Theories on wether this was a ploy to gain more viewers during the November Sweeps period or to sell more Brian merchandise during the busy holiday shopping season have been rampant. Another theory is that Seth wants out of the show and this was his way to wane interest and have it ultimately canceled. Whatever the case may be, fans are hopinh that the pooch comes back as he was an integral part of the family and storyline. A new website emerged this morning that promises a "special announcement from Brian" in 10 days. The site has a countdown and a backdrop with a snapshot from the show that reads, "You are now entering QUAHOG, Rhode Island. Come taste our clam." The domain is set up at briansannouncement.com and it urges readers to "spread the word" with links to all the social media accounts from "Family Guy." Everything seems legit, but fans should not get their hopes up as the domain is registered in Panama. Could it be that FOX is trying to be ultra-secretive and hired someone in Panama to register the domain to put skeptics off? We will find out in 10 days time... UPDATE: Deadline is reporting that the site is indeed a hoax. “The producers have confirmed that the ‘special announcement from Brian’ website is a hoax and was not created by anyone connected to the show, studio or network,” Family Guy studio 20th Century Fox TV said this morning, in response to questions about the site.
