(PHOTO CREDIT: Creative Commons) McDonald's is the most profitable fast-food chain in the world, with over $2.5 billion in revenue each year.
The fast-food chain revealed that the new sandwich will come in three varieties: chicken and bacon, sweet chili chicken and chicken and ranch. The wraps will use the same type of flour tortillas and chicken as its snack wraps, introduced in 2006.

The wraps will range from 300 to 600 calories, depending on whether people pick grilled or deep-fried chicken.
The new menu item is McDonald's newest attempt to spike their sales, after last year their monthly figure fell for the first time in a decade. The biggest hamburger chain is hoping to hold on to customers as it faces a shifting industry with increasing competition.
This McMenu revamp comes at a time in which tastes of diners are changing, and customers are looking for more premium ingredients and a healthier image. Together with the McWraps, McDonalds is planning on offering a new version of the McMuffin made with egg whites. Following the healthy trend, Burger King announced Tuesday the release of its first turkey burger.
According to Dan Coudreaut, culinary innovator at McDonald's, the wraps will be a "platform" from which different varieties will be developed. These could include spicy of Cajun flavors, or even a shrimp McWrap, which is already available in Europe.
"That's the benefit of McDonald's being a global system," he said.
National advertising for the McWraps will start on April 1, suggesting a price of $3.99.
