Just when Taco Bell couldn't make it any easier to access food that's deliciously bad for you, the company just might unveil an expanded "low-end" $1 menu near you.

After it launched its test menu in two cities in the U.S.-- Kansas City, Mo. and Sacramento, Calif.-- in January, the Mexican food chain could be prepared to spread the menu nationwide depending on how well it does.

"Our $1 Cravings Menu just went into test in two markets, and pending final results, will launch nationally in the near future," said Rob Poetsch, a spokesman for Taco Bell, told ABC News.

If this gets big, the menu would phase out the "Why Pay More" Menu and sit side-by-side with its "Cantina" menu, which was designed to keep up with other Americanized-Mexican fast food chain, Chipotle.

Taco Bell's other menus, however, boast prices as high as $5 for "premium" ingredients, MSN reports. This new low-end menu is designed for convenience -- both culinary and financially.

The menu offers 12 items at $1 each from the Shredded Chicken Mini Quesadillas to a Beefy Nacho Loaded Griller. Once consumers have weeded through the jargon, Taco Bell representatives said they are confident this variation will hit the mark with patrons finding for the greasy fare.

When asked about the national kickoff for this menu, the company refused to comment.

Taco Bell is just one of the countless places today bringing back the emphasis on their inexpensive menu items. McDonald's and Burger King are not far behind, with McDonald's putting the spotlight on its Dollar Menu and Burger King cranking out new deals, the Epoch Times reported.

Wendy's took a different spin on the cheap food craze and went with tiered pricing on its items while reinventing its 99 cent menu.

Until it's passed its test, though, hungry, broke college kids outside of Kansas City and Sacramento will just have to wait it out until the Cravings Menu makes its debut.
