More than 15 states will have the opportunity to enjoy a tax-free weekend this coming August.
Clothing items, bedsheets, computers, various electronics, backpacks, school supplies and other highly sought items will all become tax exempt once the weekends hit next month, just in time for folks to save on back-to-school supplies for their children.

According to the Christian Science Monitor, shoppers will be able to save anywhere between 4 to 9 percent on multiple purchases, with weekend sales expected to begin at 12:01am on Friday and run until midnight on Sunday. Most tax-free weekends will take place between August 2nd and 4th with multiple states postponing their tax breaks until later in the month.
The South Carolina Department of Revenue indicates that consumers will save upwards of $3 million collectively over these weekends. While some of the aforementioned items will certainly become hot commodities, popular purchases including jewelry, cosmetics, eyewear and cell phones will not be considered tax-exempt items, according to Newsmax.

While people will undoubtedly be out in full force during the savings weekends, some of the most popular items to buy may not be the most luxurious things.
Various computers will see cutback prices but these tax-free weekends aren't meant to encourage folks to buy major items such as cars, boats and RV's. Safer buys and more useful purchases such as school supplies and clothing items are sure to fly off shelves because most department stores will offer these items without tax additions.
