iPhone 5S Release Date Rumors: Leaked Photos Of Rear Shell Reveal Changes As Release Date Approaches

As the Sept. 10^th release date of iPhone 5S approaches, news and updates of the next-generation smartphone are still being released. Nowhereelse.fr has shared some leaked images of the rear shell of the iPhone 5S, which show comparisons between the phone's predecessor and the changes expected for the forthcoming device.

One photo shows the rear shell of the alleged iPhone 5S with a bar logic board overlay. According to MacRumors, the part contains several "repositioned screw holes compared to the iPhone 5 logic board, and overlay photos shows how these holes line up exactly with mounting points on the rear shell."

Another leaked photo that shows a serious change, is an image of the home button region. Rumors have been swirling that the home button will also serve as a fingerprint sensor and the comparison photos show how the metal spacer from the home button has changed. The original button metal spacer cushion for iPhone 5 was symmetrical but now the metal spacer for its successor, iPhone 5S, has an asymmetrical button metal spacer cushion with an altered screw hole locations and an angled edge along one side.

Could the altered spacer indicate the presence of the elusive fingerprint sensor? We have heard rumors stating that it is definitely in and that it is definitely out. And while this is all simply speculation maybe the fingerprint sensor is real! It seems reasonable to suspect that they may be related to accommodating the fingerprint sensor, we obviously don't know for sure due to lack of parts associated with the spacer.

I guess we will just have to what and see what the iPhone 5S has in store for us when unveiled at Apple's event on Sept. 10^th.
