The first details regarding Activision's next installment of "Call of Duty" has been released! The violent video game franchise announced "Ghosts" today at an event in Los Angeles. Gamers were able to catch a glimpse of new gameplay footage choreographed impeccably with a newly released single from rapper, Eminem. Eminem's debuted his new song "Survival," from his eighth studio album. And while Eminem's new album is yet to be released, the aptly named "Survival" is already cemented as a hit alongside the first multiplayer gameplay trailer for "Call of Duty: Ghosts."

"Call of Duty: Ghosts" is set to be released this holiday season on November 5 and gamers will be able to experience the next installment on both current and next-generation gaming consoles. Both the timing and the medium through which Eminem released "Survival" are notable. Eminem has dropped his latest track in the wake of Kendrick Lamar attacking fellow hip-hop artists on Big Sean's single, "Control." With the rap world in chaos, Eminem has simply strengthened his reputation, returning to his roots with his rapid-fire pace and complex rhyming schemes. In addition, Eminem chose to unveil "Survival" on the "Call of Duty" platform, almost ensuring that the single will be an instant hit.

Eminem's inclusion in Activision's "Call of Duty: Ghosts" trailer seems in line with the high profile celebrities that video game company has been attracting. Another high-level talent featured in the "Call of Duty" franchise is Trent Reznor, the front man and composer for Nine Inch Nails. Reznor wrote the theme song for the most recent "Call of Duty," 2012's "Black Ops 2." Also in "Black Ops 2," actor Sam Worthington, best known for his role in "Avatar," is featured in voiceover work.

And while Activision has been relatively consistent throughout the "Call of Duty" series, "Ghosts" held some surprises for longtime fans of the shooter saga. "Ghosts" developer Infinity Ward exposed multiple new features for the upcoming game's multiplayer mode including three new gameplay modes, additional customization for player's in-game virtual avatars. Mark Rubin, studio producer at Infinity Ward, called the new "Ghosts" multiplayer "the biggest overhaul of multiplayer since the original "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare," which was first released in 2007.
