The latest Mac Pro will be available fall 2013. Apple teased the latest redesign for their desktop computer in an epic new trailer that shows a glimpse of a sleek looking Mac. Features, apps and price have not yet been announced. The 51-second teaser trailer is almost movie-like with a score that would do well in a James Bond film. Quick flashes of fire, the earth and a human eye all pop up on the screen. The Mac Pro is oval shaped and the ad takes you over the entire cylinder before revealing the Apple logo.
The music heard in the ad is "Supremacy" by Muse. The words "Fall 2013" appear at the end of the ad which gives the first idea of when the Mac Pro will be released. The Mac Pro trailer has also been seen in movie theaters ahead of the Steve Jobs biopic. When the desktop redesign was first announced Apple answered questions about a release date with their favorite phrase "later this year." The new design for the Mac Pro is according to techradar.com meant to "kick start the ailing desktop market." Apple themselves have contributed to the decline of desktop popularity with their signature laptops and iPad tablets.
"When we began work on the next Mac Pro, we considered every element that defines a pro computer - graphics, storage, expansion, processing power, and memory. And we challenged ourselves to find the best, most forward-looking way possible to engineer each one of them. When we put it all together, the result was something entirely new. Something radically different from anything before it. Something that provides an extremely powerful argument against the status quo. Here's a sneak peek at what's next for the pro computer," said the Apple Mac Pro website.
Tecradar.com gave some details about what configurations "the most radical Mac yet" as Apple calls it, will have. "The various configuration of the Intel Xeon E5 processor will support up to 12 cores, there's AMD FirePro workstation-class GPUs and 1,866MHz DDR3 RAM, which can deliver up to 60GBps of memory bandwidth," writes techradar.com The tech site also believes that a definite release date for the Mac Pro desktop will be announced on September 10, at the iPhone 5S launch event.
