"Once Upon a Time" season three will premier Sunday September 29 at 8pm on ABC. The show about all of your favorite fairy tale characters picks up on board the Jolly Roger where Emma (Jennifer Morrison), Regina (Lana Parrilla), Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin), Charming (Joshua Dallas), Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle) and Captain Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) have all joined together in order to rescue young Henry (Jared S. Gilmore) from Neverland. The boy was taken to Neverland at the end of last season by Tamara (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Greg Mendell (Ethan Embry).
Tamara and Mendell infiltrate the town of Storybrooke as members of an agency out to destroy magic. At the end of season two the pair have been told by their bosses, whom we do not know the identity of, to move forward with their plan to destroy the town, killing the occupants and getting rid of magic. Their plan does not work as Emma and Regina pair up and combine their magic, saving everyone. Mendell and Tamara grab Henry as a last resort telling the boy they found more than just magic in Storybrooke, referring to Henry. With Emma, Regina, Snow and Charming chasing after Tamara and Mendell the pair open a portal and take Henry to Neverland.
Regina and Emma are not about to let their son fall victim to Peter Pan and Neverland. The Neverland in "Once Upon a Time" is not the happy go lucky place portrayed by Disney. It is a place where children suffer at the hands of an evil phantom, Peter Pan. The question still remains as to why Henry was taken there. Many other questions still hang in the air that fans are hoping will be resolved quickly in season three. With another three weeks to go until season three of "Once Upon a Time" begins here are a few spoilers to hold you over:
The plot synopsis for episode one of season three has been released, "As Emma, Mary Margaret, David, Regina, Mr. Gold and Hook enter Neverland to search for a kidnapped Henry, they're greeted by a school of not-too-friendly mermaids who threaten to end their search before it begins; Henry finds himself on the run from the Lost Boys with another escapee from Peter Pan's encampment; and Neal, recovering from his wounds, travels through the Enchanted Forest with Mulan (Jamie Chung) in an attempt to learn the fates of Emma and Henry."
Okay so what we know about episode one is that Henry has somehow escaped Peter Pan, Tamara and Mendell. Neil survived being shot and his fall into the Enchanted Forest and has teamed up with Mulan. Emma and the rest of the crew are still onboard the Jolly Roger and have no idea what has become of Henry. Emma believes she saw Neil die and does not know he is in the Enchanted Forest. It also looks like those on board Hook's pirate ship are having a tough time. Newly released images from season 3 show a soaking wet Emma in her parents' arms. Did she somehow fall over board?
The other fairy tale characters that were left behind in Storybrooke will not be left out of season three Grumpy (Lee Arenberg), Ruby (Meghan Ory) and Belle (Emilie de Ravin) will have their hands full when a mischievous red-haired mermaid named Ariel (Joanna Garcia-Swisher) shows up. In the teaser trailer that shows Ariel's first appearance we see Grumpy about to enjoy his lunch when a mysterious creature sneaks up on him stealing his fork. She then runs quickly back into the ocean, never showing her face. After a tail splash and a glimpse of her bright red hair the woman is gone.
Another character fans should be on the lookout for is Robin Hood (Sean Maguire). The arrow slinging rebel will receive an arc this season. Images show Robin Hood working alongside Mulan and Neil. In season two we saw Belle save Robin Hood (Tom Ellis) from Rumplestiltskin in the Enchanted Forest. No word yet on how the trio meets up in season three but rumors propose that Robin Hood will be Regina's new love interest. If that is the case all of the characters will have to meet up at some point in season three.
