"Game of Thrones" and Sigur Rós are collaborating, however this time it's not just for the soundtrack, the Icelandic indie band will be featured on screen! HBO will incorporate the band into the world of Westeros for Season 4 of "Game of Thrones."

Sigur Rós has always been a favorite of "Game of Thrones" show runners David Benioff and Dan Weiss. The dynamic team would normally play the band art-pop music while filming in Iceland, where most of the scenes regarding the North and the Wall were shot. Now Benioff and Weiss have gone a step further and will feature the members of Sigur Rós in new forthcoming episodes. Jón Þór "Jónsi" Birgisson, Georg Hólm and Orri Páll Dýrason are currently shooting an appearance on the "Game of Thrones" set in Croatia.

We are a bit surprised they are not shooting in their native Iceland, but by them shooting in Croatia we have some sense of their still unannounced roles. Based on shooting location alone, it is most likely that the band will be included in scenes featuring Daenerys Targaryen. The Khalessi together with Sigur Rós should certainly make for an interesting mix. Now we have to consider what exactly their mysterious roles will entail and while there are no indications on the nature of their cameos, they are musicians by trade so perhaps Dany will get a little tired of Jorah's voice and be in need of some tunes.

This is certainly not the first time musicians have worked with the "Game of Thrones" team, in the previous seasons, the band members of Snow Patrol and Coldplay were cast in small supporting roles in the fantasy series. Additionally. The National and The Hold Steady have performed and recorded songs inspired by lyrics in George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series.

The National was responsible for the terrifying melody of "The Rains of Castamere." Written about Tywin Lannister's crushing defeat of the House Reyne of Castamere, the song is typically sung as a reminder of the fate that awaits those who cross Tywin, or the Lannisters of Casterly Rock in general. As for The Hold Steady's performance of "The Bear and the Maiden Fair," the band transformed a traditional song of the Seven Kingdoms into a hard hitting rock song. Following the episode aptly entitle "The Bear and the Maiden Fair" The Hold Steady's performance ensured that the song lost its humorous tone.
