"FINALLY PROOF THAT IM HALF PUERTO RICAN!!" Tweeted Aubrey Plaza on Tuesday, with a link to her interview as the new cover girl for this fall's Cosmopolitan For Latinas magazine.

The "Parks and Recreation" star graced the magazine's front page looking red-hot in her sexy cut-out scarlet leather dress that perfectly complements her toned figure and a slick of vampy red lipstick and matching nail polish to enhance the look.

Plaza, 29, who's also the star of the newly released comedy "The To Do List" spoke to the magazine about her little known Puerto Rican heritage, the "awkward" things her Boricua relatives did, and how humor fits into her everyday life.

"A lot of people don't assume I'm Puerto Rican because I'm fair skinned," Plaza told Cosmopolitan for Latinas. "But I feel very connected to that side of my family."

However, there were times when she just wanted to hide under a rock following her relative's behavior. "My aunts and uncles used to teach my friends salsa at all my birthday parties in middle school. It. Was. Awkward."

But, if the actress was anything like the way she is today, she probably used humor to make those awkward situations funny and give her friends a party they wouldn't forget. "Humor is always the way I deal with everything. Whether it was a sh*tty job, a boring class, or anything, my brain is always looking at it through that lens."

However, not even humor could save her from the very raunchy and explicit scenes she had to shoot for "The To Do List," where she plays Brandy Klark, a girl who wants to gain more sexual experience before going off to college in the 1990s.

"[In The To Do List] I look at the schedule ... and it was like 'So today I'm gonna have to give someone a blow job, hump a pillow, masturbate in front of everyone.' So I'd be like 'Oh, my god,' and I would let myself freak out about it for like three minutes in my trailer, and then I would be like 'done.'"

Aubrey also opened up about her recently-found fame and how people associate her with "mean girl" TV persona, April Ludgate.

"I was in New Orleans this spring, and a guy came up to me and screamed, 'It's you, it's you! Say something you would say,' and I went, 'Leave me alone!' and he was like 'Oh, that was perfect! Do it again.' And I was like, 'No, really, leave me alone!'"

She added that after that encounter she was amused of the power she has over saying anything she wants and people not feeling offended by it. "It's kind of hilarious because I think I have a 'mean-girl pass' at this point. I could say whatever I want!"

Cosmopolitan For Latinas hits newsstands on August 6.
