Who would've thought that the host of "Primer Impacto", Bárbara Bermudo, would have the most impactful news of the year so far? The news presenter was recently let go from the network after fronting the hard news program since 2002. So far Bermudo has been mum about the reasons of her departure, but a new report suggests that her contract was not renewed because she was asking for a 35% raise that the Spanish-language network couldn't meet.

If Univision would've accepted Bermudo's pay increase, that would have meant an annual payment ofr $1 million, according to La Prensa. It is also rumored that Bárbara's relationship with her boss Daniel Coronel was sour after her husband was let go from the local Univision affiliate in Miami.

All the information around Bárbara Bermudo's departure has been unofficial. Before news of her axing was made public, the journalist hinted at a big change in her life when she posted a cryptic photo and message on Instagram.

“Ready to dominate and only add good things”, she captioned the pic of a calculator and a notebook with the words “plans for world domination. She also added hashtangs like “determination,” “new goals” and “mega project.”

Her husband Mario Andres Moreno did post a message on the same social network to express his gratitude for all the outpour of support for his wife.

“Thank you all for the great show of support to my wife that make me feel very proud of her and her extraordinary talent that nobody will be able to cloud,” he wrote on Instagram. “Very soon the truth will come to the light and the enemy will be unmasked. For now, thank you with all my heart. #GodIsGoodAllTheTime.”
