Rest easy Barcelona fans, Neymar isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

The 24-year-old Brazilian superstar officially signed his five year contract with Barcelona. Neymar has played with Barcelona since 2013, and although this deal already had a “mutual agreement” from both sides, it wasn’t officially signed on to paper. The signing was delayed because Neymar participated in the 2016 Summer Olympics in his home country of Brazil, a tournament that saw Neymar score the game-winning goal against Germany via penalty kick.

According to Fox Sports, the five year deal will expire on June 30, 2021. Neymar’s annual salary will be an estimated €16 million, but the contract also includes a buyout option. Don’t worry Barcelona fans, it doesn’t appear as if this deal will end early. In order to buyout Neymar’s deal, said club would have to spend more than €200 million. French League 1 squad Paris Saint-Germain have shown a lot of interest in Neymar according to his agent, but nothing solid has been confirmed.

English Premier League’s Manchester United has also shown serious interest in Neymar.

Each and every year Neymar is in the running for the prestigious FIFA Ballon d'Or, which is pretty scary considering he’s not even 25 years old. Neymar has been criticized for some of his actions and outburst, but that has primarily come with the Brazilian National Team.

The odds of Lionel Messi going anywhere are extremely slim, and reports have already surfaced that Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez is close to finalizing a new deal with Barcelona. Messi, Neymar and Suarez create arguably the best trio in the soccer world today, maybe in the entire 21st century. The South American triplet have already led Barcelona to Treble, UEFA Champions League, La Liga titles and a Copa del Rey championship.

Once again, the future looks bright in Barcelona.
