Grab a Kleenex, this is the most emotional pep talk you will ever see. There’s a strong possibility after watching the video below, you shed a few tears, I know we did. No matter how many tears you shed however, it bows in comparison to the amount that Devon Still is shedding on this day.

Devon Still is a defensive tackle with the Cincinnati Bengals. If you haven’t heard his story yet, you should. Still received the most terrifying news any parent could get in June of this year. Still was told that his 4-year-old daughter, Leah, the self-proclaimed, “Selfie Queen,” had neuroblastoma, a rare form of pediatric cancer that has a less than 50% survival rate.

Still reported to training camp while his daughter was fighting for her life. He was unable to focus on the game of football, and was ultimately cut by the team. That’s when he told his coach about Leah. That’s when he broke down in front of his bosses and told them he didn’t care that he got cut, or about football, all he cared about was losing his best friend, his daughter. In a classy move, the Bengals placed Still on the practice squad enabling him to get paid and receive full medical benefits for his daughter.

The Bengals also started selling Still’s jersey on their website, and donating all the proceeds to charity to raise money for Leah. Still’s jersey is the largest selling jersey by a practice squad player in the history of the NFL. Still eventually got promoted to the full time roster and has a bye week this week ahead of their week 5 game against the New England Patriots. Only thing is, his mind is not focused on sacking Tom Brady.

Today, Thursday morning, Still posted the video below on his Instagram of him talking to his daughter. Leah is going in for surgery today to have a tumor removed from her brain. Doctors help they will be able to remove the tumor today, and get Leah into chemotherapy, radiation, and stem-cell transplants in an effort to save her life. Needless to say, that Still is scared beyond words this morning and the fact that he had the courage to be this strong for his daughter as she too faces the most terrifying moment of her life, is all the more heart breaking.

So watch the video, and say a prayer for Leah. If you get a chance, go HERE and purchase a Devon Still jersey of your own to help Leah and other children battling cancer.
