Brazil won first place in Group A of the Confederations Cup by defeating Italy 4-2. During the game played at the Fonte Nova stadium in Salvador City this Saturday June 22nd, Neymar proved to be a rising star for the Verdeaamarelho team.The goals were scored by Dante, Neymar and Fred. Giaccherini and Chiellini were the responsible for Italy's goals.

Dante started the scoring late in the first half with a shot from the right side of the box in injury time. The lead didn't last long as Emanuele Giaccherini fired one past Brazilian keeper Julio Cesar in the 51st minute to even the contest at 1. Continuing his stellar play, Neymar recorded his third goal in 3 CONFED Cup matches at the 55-minute mark to put Brazil back in front. The first of 2 tallies from Fred would follow in the 66th-minute as Brazil looked to be well on their way to victory. Giorgio Chiellini responded for the Italians in the 71st minute however, as Italy kept themselves within striking distance. With minimal scoring opportunities coming for both teams the next 17 minutes, Fred notched another score at the 89-minute mark, giving Brazil the 4-2 advantage with little time remaining.

Next step for Brazil is playing on Belo Horizonte next Wednesday against Luis Suarez and Uruguay in the semifinals while The Azurra will face defending World Cup champions Spain in the other semifinal on Thursday.
