"Breaking Bad" is ending this season and fans are disappointed to see their favorite characters say goodbye forever (RELATED: Season 5 Part 2 Spoilers: 6 Things To Know About The Final Season [TRAILER]). With the show coming to an end, there is some good news in order as a "Breaking Bad" spinoff has been confirmed starring Saul Goodman, the lawyer. Now, if you take this as a sign that Saul will survive the series finale, then think again! The show will be a prequel to the cult-favorite AMC show. AMC greenlighting the "Breaking Bad" spinoff series took some time, as the network and studio, Sony Pictures Television, had to come to a licensing agreement for the show. Once contracts are finalized, the series will order episodes. The concept has supposedly been developed by "Breaking Bad" creator/executive producer Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould.

Here are four things to know about the "Breaking Bad" spinoff: 1. The show will be called "Better Call Saul" and as the name suggests, it'll feature Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk). 2. According to preliminary reports, the drama will be one hour long and will "focus on the evolution of the popular Saul Goodman character before he ever became Walter White's lawyer." 3. The character of Saul Goodman was created by "Breaking Bad" writer Peter Gould, who will now produce the new show. 4. Reports suggest that the show will air next year.

Actor Bob Odenkirk has revealed that he credits his role to the writers, as he has the most comedic role on the serious drama. "It's fun. I'm glad to bring that tone to the show. I love making wisecracks. In that way, I'm impersonating my father -- that's how I look at it -- who made a lot of jokes and cynical wisecracks all of the time," said Odenkirk to NPR. "It's how the character is written. I don't improvise a single word that I say as Saul. In fact, it's been a challenge for me to not add anything, but to rather try to deliver the material exactly the way that it's written, word for word. I come close. I don't nail it, but I come real close."
