Its official, Brandon Marshall has been traded to the J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets! The Chicago Bears agreed to trade the troubled receiver on Friday morning according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. By NFL rules, the trade cannot be made official until Tuesday March 10th at 4:00PM EST, but assuming Marshall passes his physical and all goes smoothly, he will be wearing a jet uniform for the foreseeable future.

Marshall is one of the best receivers in the NFL and was Jay Cutler’s go-to option for many years. However, injuries have plagued the nine-year veteran lately and he finished the 2014 season on injured reserve after fracturing his ribs and puncturing his lung against the Dallas Cowboys last December. Marshall finished the season with just 721 yards, his lowest total since his rookie season.

Marshall is reunited with first year New York Jets coach Todd Bowles who coached Marshall as an assistant when they were both with the Miami Dolphins. The Jets were one of the top contenders to get Marshall if new Chicago Bears head coach John Fox and general manager Ryan Pace were intent on getting rid of him. The Jets had one of the worst receiving corps in the league last year and ranked near the bottom of the league in receiving yards. Marshall now joins a formidable receiving trio of Percy Harvin and Eric Decker, however, it is unknown who will be the quarterback throwing to them next season. Reports have the Jets drafting Oregon Ducks quarterback Marcus Mariota at No. 6 in the upcoming NFL draft, but they could also start Geno Smith, or pick up a veteran quarterback in a trade or through free agency.
