Breast Cancer Awareness Month begins today on October 1st and will continue for the entire month. The purpose of the month is to

raise awareness for the disease that affects so many women;

however, it does so much more than that. During Breast Cancer Awareness Month,

many women

are exposed to life saving prevention techniques, mainly early detection and increased screening and tests. With the disease being widely reported by the mainstream media,

more donations are contributed to finding a cure.

Additionally, the month serves as a time to discuss the disease, for survivors, and those suffering from breast cancer. It creates an open conversation about breast cancer and the harsh realities of suffering from this disease, In celebration of the month Latin Times has collected 10 quotes to raise awareness and hop or the victims of breast cancer.

That surrender, even the smallest act of giving up, stays with me. So when I feel like quitting, I ask myself, which would I rather live with?”—Lance Armstrong
