One of the biggest shockers of television has just happened. Family Guy Season 12, Episode 6 titled "Life of Brian" is definitely a game changer for the animated FOX show. The rumors that a regular character would be killed off from the show finally became true. The show's synopsis reads as follows: "Stewie decides to destroy his time machine after too many close calls with altering the course of mankind when he and Brian travel back to 17th Century Jamestown. After he destroys his time machine, Stewie immediately regrets his decision when an unthinkable event happens, and he is unable to go back in time."

So what was the unthinkable? Creator Seth MacFarlane had already confirmed that indeed a member of the Griffin family was going to die and be replaced by an upcoming member, so who was the unfortunate victim? Brian. He died and is now being replaced by a "pooch with attitude" named Vinnie. It is rumored that the new character will be voiced by Tony Sirico, best known for starring in "The Sopranos." Brian died after being run over by a car. Stewie was obviously devastated by what seemed unimaginable and with his time machine broken, the Griffin family could not go back and change the course of events that lead to the death of Brian, a character voiced by creator Seth MacFarlane.

Obviously, fans were not amused. People took it to social media to express their dislike, and even Latin Times readers let us know they were angry by commenting on our article breaking the news. Dave123 commented: "Family guy used to be my favorite show.. If Brian's gone.. I think the show might change, no new dog. Brian is the best :,(" while user DeVold added: "No way he is gone for good. McFarlane is just trying to get a rise out of the fan base. I was instantly mad .... Then I thought about it..its just a trick to play with our emotions!"

Kysier, another user also weighed in: "The idea of killing brian was, acceptable, at best. The lackluster method in which he met his demise, as well as the quick acceptance of stewie, not to mention the poor execution of the entire plot was pathetic. That, coupled with the new addition, ANOTHER italian mafioso wannabe, this time a major character, was the final nail in the coffin so to speak. Seth just alienated half of his fans, and pissed off another quarter. This is without a doubt the end for family guy, unless things are repaired."

While user Bob Burns might have spoken for ages when he said: "Vinni was a horrible choice, that wise guy accent has already become old hat just like Seth's sense of humor. I really believe Seth did this so that the ratings do go down so he will have a legitimate excuse to call it quits, it's so obvious he is not into it anymore.Seth has stated in public many times that he does not like doing Family Guy anymore and cannot figure out why people still like it even though he writes non-funny episodes all the time." Also, check some of the Twitter reactions that fans (or maybe ex-fans now) have posted on the social media using the hashtag #BringBackBrian. What do you think? Do you agree with Brian being killed off?
