'The Brits Are Coming' Casting News: Sofía Vergara Joins The Cast Of Upcoming Comedy Action Film

Seems like “Modern Family” Sofía Vergara has taken a liking on comedy action films, as she will be joining the cast of the upcoming movie “The Brits Are Coming.” The cast stars Uma Thurman and Tim Roth, and also includes with Parker Posey, Alice Eve, Maggie Q, Crispin Glover and Stephen Fry. The story follows a con-artist couple (Thurman and Roth) that flees to Los Angeles to hatch a jewel theft plot in an effort to avoid paying of a massive gambling debt to a notorious mobster in England.

Shooting of the film is underway in New York City under the direction of James Oakley, who who also directed “All Is Lost” and “A Most Violent Year,” which stars Oscar Isaac. The film was written based by Alex Michaelides, who worked with Oakley on “Devil You Know.” Details about Vergara’s character have not been revealed, but we’re guessing it will most likely be a funny one.

A release date has not been set, but the film is expected to hit theaters sometime next year.
