Camila Cabello left Fifth Harmony almost a year ago and she is now releasing her debut album titled "Camila". It will be on January 12 when her solo record will be released, containing the hit track "Havana". Pre-orders for the collection of songs will start this Thursday, December 7 and two tunes will be released, one called "Never Be The Same" and the other one "Real Friends."

"To my Camilizers.... my debut album is finally finished," she told her fans on Instagram. "Now I'm trying to steady my heartbeat!!!!!!! thank you for being so patient with me this year, I can't wait for you to hear what has been the soundtrack to the past year of my life... all of these songs have special memories behind them, and i'm not gonna lie, it feels emotional letting them go, feels like the end of a chapter..."

Camila's album was originally titled "The Hurting. The Healing. The Loving," but the singer is now explaining why it's simply called "Camila". "I decided to call it by my name, because this is where this chapter in my life ended," she wrote. "It started with somebody else's story, it ended with me finding my way back to myself."

In an interview with Glamour magazine earlier this year, she said that she wanted to write songs for immigrants. "Right now I’m in the process of writing about our whole journey," Cabello told the publication. "I want to make a love song for immigrants. That word, immigrant, has such a negative connotation—I can just imagine all the little girls who have dreams of coming here and feel unwanted. It inspires me in my music to do my best to give [them] the light that I have. I want to be what people think of when they think of America—a person who, no matter what her first language was or what her religion is, can see her dreams come to life if she works hard enough."

The Latin superstar's latest hit "Havana" has reached a new high on the Billboard Hot 100 in November taking the #2 spot. This is Cabello's highest ranking song as a solo artist, besting her former band which reached #4 with "Work From Home" and even her collaboration with Machine Gun Kelly, "Bad Things." With less than a year from her abandoning the group and going solo, it seems to be that Camila made a great decision.

Camila has stayed away from the drama following her exit from Fifth Harmony, but she has talked about her time in the girlband. One of the things she said she wasn't particularly fond of was how sexualized her image was. “Especially with being a girl group, there’s been a lot of times where people have tried to sexualize us to just get more attention,” she said. “Unfortunately, sex sells. There’s definitely been times where there’s stuff that I have not been comfortable with and I’ve had to put my foot down…I feel like it’s been tricky because we’ve had to grow into ourselves while being in front of the world and while making songs that did have a lot of sexual undertones.”
