When Carmen Salinas talks we all listen as her perspective on pop culture is unique and she tends to not mince her words. The television personality was recently asked about her take on Kate del Castillo's allegations about Televisa that she made on her Netflix documentary "The Day I Met El Chapo." The actress says that the Mexican network had a catalogue of actresses that they offered publicists to persuade them to buy time.

"Your dad is working there my dear, you can't talk about the place your father works as he is a great actor and a grat man," she told reporters on "Suelta La Sopa". "It's not possible that you badmouth the company that gave us and has given us to eat and work."

Carmen Salinas added her take on what those publicists meetings were like. "The sponsors went with their children and they would take pictures with us," she said. "The producers of the shows would go with the publicists. It was a meeting where we all went, who knows what network she worked at, I don't know, but she shouldn't even talking. Eventhough I don't have a contract with Televisa anymore, it's the place that gave me food for more than 60 years. I am not an ungrateful person and I will not badmouth the Azcárraga's because all the actresses that sold their telenovelas, received a lot of money, like Thalía, Verónica Castro, they wanted all of them to be well, to the kid actors, Colunga, William Levy, they gave them all houses because they sold well." Carmen Salinas is no stranger to controversy and because she tells it like it is, reporters always go to her to ask of her opinions. During the scandal with Gerardo Ortiz and the video where he is abusive to a woman, she asked for the video to be removed for promotiong violence. "It's horrible," she said in an interview. "They shouldn't have been able to work on something so frightening. I have granddaughters and I am terrified that they end up with a fool like that. It invites people to generate violence against women. If I am working to promote gender equality, I need to protest because it's not fair that a woman gets treated like that."

In a separate interview Carmen Salinas also said: "It's to incentivize femicides. What if they did that to his sister, a niece, they shouldn't do that, those types of videos invite crime and to kill women. We want the video to be taken down the Internet." The video clip for "Fuiste Mía" with Ortiz, shows a man and a woman who are in a relationship. The man (Ortiz) leaves and upon his return, catches his girlfriend/wife in bed with another man. He takes out his gun and shoots the woman's lover in the head and leaves him for dead. Ortiz then makes mends by tying the girl up and putting her inside a car's trunk. We are then made to believe that he sets the car on fire with the woman still inside.
