Argentine actress Chela Castro has reportedly died on Wednesday (Apr. 16, 2014) at the age of 82, reports TV Forum.

The actress, whose real name is María Celia Ovejero Martínez, passed away in her home in Mexico City after suffering from a heart attack; her health was reportedly on a decline since 2011. The remains of Castro will be unveiled at the Sullivan Street funeral parlor.

Born on June 21, 1931 in Santiago del Estero, Argentina, the actress made her acting debut on stage with "Dulce Enemiga" in 1950. She shot to fame in Mexico, after moving to the North American country in the mid 1950s, for participating in the comedic program "¡No Empujen!" in the 1980s with her husband and fellow Argentine actor Raúl Astor, who died in 1995.

In addition to her role in the program, Castro is famous for her work in telenovelas such as "El Derecho de Nacer," "Angelitos Negros," and "Ramona y Te Sigo Amando." She is also known for her work on stage in the spanish-language adaptation of "The Vagina Monologues" and "Las Viejas Vienen Marchando." Castro officially retired from the stage in 2012.
