Cirilo Castillo, 43, from Texas, has been arrested for the second time in three months for having sex with a horse named Nadia. It is believed he is obsessed with her.
The second arrest happened after the owners of the horse saw him on a surveillance video they had installed in Nadia's corral after the first incident occurred.
Once they saw him on the surveillance tape, they called Hidalgo County sheriff's department.
"We have a hell of a surveillance tape," Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevino said to the Houston Chronicle. "It is not going to go to, 'America's Funniest Videos,' that is for sure."
Trevino described Castillo as a laborer and said he has prior arrests for theft, marijuana possession, and most recently, cruelty to the horse, for which he was released from jail in April.
"The guy is practically harmless, except for the horse," Trevino said. "I can't just ignore this and allow it to keep happening.
Because there's no law against bestiality in Texas, Castillo can only be charged with trespassing and maybe cruelty to the horse, if there's evidence the animal was hurt during their encounter. Trevino didn't say if the surveillance tape included such evidence.
Besides the incidents mentioned before, Castillo was also arrested in January 2012 for having sex with two different horses on two different ranches. It is not known if one of the mares was Nadia.
The official added that he hopes the judge in the case could order Castillo to submit to psychological treatment.
"Maybe we can get him some help. Whatever we can do, we are going to try and do," the sheriff said.
Castillo appeared before a local judge this week on charges of cruelty to animals and trespassing. He pleaded guilty, according to CBS affiliate KGBT.
