SAN FRANCISO – The highly anticipated press conference of Super Bowl 50 Halftime headliners, Coldplay, took place on Thursday and there was plenty of interesting tidbits revealed by the band and lead singer, Chris Martin.

"I feel like Donald Trump," joked Martin as the band walked to the stage in front of hundreds of members of the media.

"Pepsi stepped in, they gave us a bigger bus and some stickers 'Coldplay for 2016,' then we just worked our little butts off and low and behold the voters of America said, 'alright, you have a go.'" Martin said when asked how they became the Super Bowl 50 halftime act.

Martin mentioned that the band does not dance, nor will their songs inspire you to get up and shake your booty. Instead, the band revealed that they will rely on pageantry and a high concept artistic design inspired by the Glastonbury Festival.

"We can't compete with the amazing dance routines and all of that, so we have to do what comes naturally to us," said pianist Will Champion.

The band has studied the past halftime shows intensely, and plans to incorporate 16 years of Coldplay music into just 12 minutes of stage time at Levi's Stadium on Sunday.

"We've watched all of the other halftime shows many times and most of them are fantastic," Martin said. "I think we're going to try and celebrate those other years and hopefully make a show as memorable as some of our favorites."

In order to incorporate the past, the band has announced special guest, Beyonce, who performed the halftime show at the 2013 Super Bowl in New Orleans. Martin would not reveal what song they will collaborate with Beyonce on, but confirmed that it would not be "Hymn for the Weekend," which they recorded with the singer last year.

Martin mentioned the band were huge Beyonce fans, and that their favorite song was "Single Ladies."

"It's a big hit in my house," said Champion. "We all do the dance."

Perhaps the greatest revelation of the press conference came when lead guitarist Jonny Buckland revealed that the band knows absolutely nothing about American Football, and for that matter, the Super Bowl itself.

"I think we're firmly split down the middle between those of us who know absolutely nothing about football and those of us who know almost absolutely nothing about football," Buckland joked.
