Cory Monteith, commonly known for his role, as Finn Hudson on "Glee" was found dead this weekend at age 31. The actor was found dead at he Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel after he missed his checkout time.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, but acting Vancouver Police Chief Doug LePard said that all indications are that there was no foul play. Surveillance video and data from fob key entries showed Monteith returning to his room in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Monteith was born in Calgary, Alberta, and moved to Vancouver Island as a child. Before getting bitten by the acting bug, he held a variety of jobs including Wal-Mart greeter, school bus driver, roofer and cab driver.

Monteith struggled with substance abuse. Monteith spent time in rehab this year, after voluntarily checking into a drug addiction treatment facility in late March. He has been candid regarding his drug use and struggles in life. In 2011, he opened up to Parade magazine, revealing he was "lucky to be alive." He also stated that that he began using drugs at 13-years-old, and took "anything and everything." At 19-years-old he went into rehab after his mother and friends intervened.

Monteith was dating Lea Michele, his "Glee" co-star for about 2-years. She was supportive throughout out his stint in rehab and told People magazine that she was proud her long-term boyfriend was seeking help. Michele recently opened up about Monteith during an interview with Marie Claire magazine, the 26-year-old actress revealed how happy and in love she was with Monteith. "I don't even remember a time when he wasn't my boyfriend," she says of Monteith, adding, "For the first time in my life, I feel really, really settled and happy. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world."

Monteith recently channeled his drug ridden past into a new movie role. In September, Monteith filmed "McCanick," which is the last known movie he shot. In the film, the actor portrayed Simon Weeks, "a drug-addicted street hustler who is sent to prison for seven years on murder charges. Once Simon is paroled, the detective who put him behind bars goes on a mission to hunt him down."

Monteith is best known for his role of Finn Hudson on Fox's hit "Glee." Monteith played the loveable quarterback of the football team at the Ohio high school; he then joins the glee club. After graduation, he comes back to town and helps direct a musical at the school.
