"Jane The Virgin," the CW adaptation of Venezuelan telenovela "Juana La Virgen" has been ordered to series and will premiere this fall on the network. The U.S. remake stars 40-year-old telenovela star Jaime Camil opposite Gina Rodriguez, who you might remember from "Filly Brown." The story by Perla Farias revolves around a young and hard working girl who gets pregnant by artificial insemination due to a hospital error. Camil will take on the role of Rubio who is a telenovela star with a connection to Jane. News of the pick up comes a month after the pilot was shot in Los Angeles. A few days ago, Juanes shared on Instagram a photo of himself holding a "Jane" script informing his followers his song "Una Flor" would be part of the first episode. "Jane The Virgin" will also star Yael Grobglas, Brett Dier, Andrea Navedo, Justin Baldoni, Ivonne Coll and Ryan Devlin.

Camil is currently starring in the Univision romantic comedy "Que Pobres Tan Ricos" opposite Zuria Vega, which is doing well audience-wise in his native Mexico. The premise of this comedic soap centers on a wealthy family that loses it all and is forced to move in with a family that is completely opposite to them. Jaime's character is an arrogant and snooty man that learns to accept his condition and works to regain back the family fortune that is now in the hands of an evil cousin. Previously, he starred as Eva on "Por Ella Soy Eva," a man running away from the law after being falsely accused. He is forced to hid his identity and dresses as a woman to infiltrate the company he was fired from to unmasks the culprits.

Jaime Camil had been looking to break into the Hollywood market for a while. Last year he starred in the successful film "Pulling Strings," a bilingual movie from Pantelion, Lionsgate and Televisa. The movie became the third highest-grossing foreign language film in 2013, helped by the momentum of Eugenio Derbez's "Instructions Not Included." Prior to that he made a guest appearance on the Lifetime series "Devious Maids." On the show he portrayed violent man who was married to Roselyn Sanchez's character and is thrown back in jail when he attacks her.
