Did Miley Cyrus Really Diss Mexico? We Have The Video Of The Alleged Interview And It’s Not What You Believe

There’s a new viral article making rounds online about certain comments that Miley Cyrus made after her controversial visit to México. A blog called Crónica Informativa, which is famous for their sensationalist – and mostly fake – pieces decided to publish this gem, with the headline “Miley Cyrus ‘I don’t care what Mexicans say.’” The text pretty much goes like this: “The shocking thing was what she [Miley Cyrus] said in an interview: ‘I don’t care what Mexicans say, I don’t like them. They’re the worst thing that could happen to my country.’”

The text continued, “The singer had never shown the racist side of her to a targeted audience. She later finished her interview by saying: ‘What I did was a demonstration of what I feel towards Mexicans. They’re lazy, mediocre and they come to take our jobs from us. I would do this again. And regarding the fine… please, I could pay that as many times as I would like.’” This was in reference to the controversy regarding Miley’s use of the Mexican flag during a concert, and the $1,200 fine the government set for disrespecting a patriotic symbol.

Of course, when you read the article it sounds like a joke. And it is. If people did a tiny bit of research, even just going to Google and typing Miley Cyrus, they wouldn’t find anything regarding the incident, but second and third class websites copy-pasting the same lie. If you look in the major news sites, there’s nothing. If Cyrus had really said those things, international media would’ve blown up. The UN would’ve called for her to publicly apologize, her tour would’ve been compromised, her sales would’ve dropped, her videos would’ve been pulled off the air, and many more consequences that come with making such harsh remarks.

However, and as we noted before, this article is fake. Even if you see the picture they used, and many other little sites have been adding to their stories as well, the banner looks photoshopped. (Look at the picture below)

And when we looked up the original video, from which the screenshot came from, we found an interview from last year made by Telefé, an Argentine network. The only thing she says about a country is that she thinks her Argentine fans are crazy in the good way, because she loves that. That’s it. That’s your viral video right there. Before we contribute with society’s detriment, let’s research a little bit. Make sure that what we’re sharing is the truth, and not some made up lies from a cheap little blog in order to get some online attention.
