Scott and Steve Leader, two brothers from South Boston, attacked a 58-year-old Latino who was sleeping outside of a Dorchester MBTA stop on Wednesday. Authorities said the homeless man was lying on the ground, shaking, with a broken nose, chest and arms battered and covered in urine when they found him.

According to The Boston Globe, the man was taken to Boston Medical Center, where he remained in fair condition. The police report said he had a broken nose, bruises on his head, and a large bruise across his torso. State police said Scott Leader, 38, told them it was OK to assault the man because he was Hispanic and homeless.

What is making this case even more outrageous is the fact that one of the brothers mentioned he was inspired by Donald Trump’s recent comments against Latinos in the U.S. to commit such crime.

The Presidential hopeful was confronted about the incident during a press conference in New Hampshire, and his response is far, far, far, away from what we hoped he would say, “I haven't heard about that. It would be a shame, but I haven't heard about that. I will say that people who are following me are very passionate. They love this country and they want this country to be great again. They are passionate. I will say that, and everybody here has reported it."

We get it Mr. Trump, you want to make America great again, but if you want to be President, you are going to have to come up with a better response. Saying your followers are passionate is just not going to cut it, at least not for Latinos who want to believe that you are up to something good.

About an hour ago, the real estate tycoon turned to his Twitter account to amend his lack of opinion about this horrible crime by saying: “Boston incident is terrible. We need energy and passion, but we must treat each other with respect. I would never condone violence.”

Do y’all think that is a response worthy of a future President? Let us know your opinion below.
