Miguel Ángel Osorio Chong, Secretary of the Mexican Secretariat of the Interior, assisted a press conference on Monday in which details of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán escape from the maximum-security prison in Almoloya were discussed.

According to Osorio Chong, the leader of the Sinaloa Drug Cartel came up with a strategy that managed to evade more than 750 cameras, 25 security filters, and a preventive bracelet.

On Tuesday night, National Security Commissioner Monte Alejandro Rubido convoked a media conference to announce that despite Osorio Chong’s speech, which stated that “El Chapo” relied on two blind spots in the surveillance cameras for his escape, there was plenty of evidence inside the prison’s walls to take action during the drug kingpin’s escape.

The Commissioner proceeded to show the media a video, which shows the exact moment in which Guzmán Loera escapes from prison. Rubido told The Associated Press that the day of the escape, after noticing the fugitive’s absence, authorities entered the cell and found a rectangular hole near the “bathroom” area that lead to a tunnel that included ventilation, electricity, and a motorcycle that seemed to be used to transport all the construction materials that were used to build the tunnel that freed Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán.
