The best of television was awarded at the Emmys 2017 and the top winners of the night included "Big Little Lies" and "The Handmaid's Tale." Nicole Kidman edged out her HBO series co-star in the Lead Actress in a Limited Series category. That same show won the Supporting Actress category for Laura Dern and Outstanding Limited Series, among other accolades. "The Handmaid's Tale" was a game-changer for the streaming platform Hulu, giving it multiple Emmys in one night that included Writing For A Drama Series, Supporting Actress for Anna Dowd, Lead Actress In A Drama Series for Elisabeth Moss and the most important one, Outstanding Drama Series.
