Facebook is ready to roll up its sleeves and make the workplace more productive with Facebook At Work. Made to appeal to businesses of any size, the upcoming enterprise communication and collaboration network service will be available within the coming weeks, according to TechCrunch. Impeccable timing could be the key ingredient that will make Facebook At Work a success.

The launch of this business communication tool arrives around the same time that Microsoft announces its plans to cancel its Yammer Enterprise service tier in January 2017. Facebook is hoping that companies that were implementing the enterprise-oriented social network may be searching for an alternative way to streamline their team’s workflow.

Facebook let the cat out of the bag and unveiled Facebook At Work in 2015, following 2014 reports that the social media giant was cooking up the enterprise product. Cut to 2016 and Facebook is anxious to take its show on the road. Since conception, major international like the Royal Bank of Scotland and its 100,000 employees have adopted Facebook At Work for its communication needs.

Like similar services such as Convo, Salesforce Chatter, and the aforementioned Microsoft venture, Yammer, the functionality of Facebooks At Work is identical. Monthly business subscribers of the products will be able to login and access a unique “Word Feed” to exchange ideas and accept tasks from colleagues. Price specifics of Facebook At Work is still under wraps, but similar apps have a median cost of approximately $16 per month. Over 100 Facebook At Work beta testers currently checking out the product will reportedly get a few more complimentary months of the subscription. This allows testers additional time to tinker around with the app and report bugs for Facebook to squash.

Facebook may come out the gate with an edge on the competition software since it has 12 years of social networking experience. With the know-how to create a user-friendly platform that will benefit the productivity of corporations, Facebook At Work could give established counterparts like Jive a fair battle.
