The story is about different father's and according to TV Notas the actor did not want to share the spotlight with other actors. Being that he has a contract with the network and one of the juiciest ones, getting paid north of $1 million a year. That exclusivity deal is for not doing anything and to be loyal to Televisa, he gets paid more when he signs on to do a project.

The anonymous tipster told the magazine that Colunga and Ocampo had an ugly fight where the latter told the former that his best years were behind him and that he was "too old to be rejecting roles." The source then said: "[Rosy Ocampo] talked to her bosses and told them that he was being rude and as an executive ordered a focus group. The results were that due to his age, Fernando was not to the liking of women, and wasn't profitable." Fernando Colunga was notified of the alleged decision by the Televisa executives but "his pride" didn't let him back down or beg for them to reconsider, according to the source. "In an arrogant tone he said it was best for him as he wanted to focus on film and not be in television," they said.
