The four-year "Futurama" ressurection is coming to a close this week. This will be the last adevnture for the Planet Express gang after the show's tumultuous run. It began in 1999 with Matt Groening, "The Simpsons creator," and David X Cohen and ended its run on FOX in 2003. It got a chance to kick back up again with a series of made-for-TV movies until Comedy Central picked it up again. The show lasted a number of years until its final bow, to air Wednesday.

The plot, as revealed by a sneak video, shows Fry and Leela discovering that there's something very wrong with their universe -- and they're the only ones immune to it. Aptly titled "Broke The Universe," the duo must try to solve the mystery. The two wander around the bustling metropolis around them in which everyone is frozen in place, unresponsive to their attempted interractions. There's not much to indicate what could be causing this phenomenon, other than the opening lines in which Leela tells Fry that he may have "broke the universe" -- meanings fans will just have to wait until the episode premieres to get the finer details.

Viewers may watch the show Sept. 4 at 10 p.m. on Comedy Central. Luckily for avid watchers and Groeining fans alike, this isn't the last time we'll see the group together. The Planet Express crew will be featured on an episode of "The Simpsons" set to air sometime in 2015.
