Game of Thrones
"King of the North" Robb Stark poster for Season 3 of HBO's "Game of Thrones." HBO

"Game of Thrones" fans beware! Because episode 9 "The Rains of Castamere" is going to include some bloodshed. Did I say some? I meant a lot! Episode 9, should be the pinnacle of season 3, it will be dramatic, action-packed and emotional. I am getting even more excited because HBO has been keeping so tight lipped about "The Rains of Castamere" but if you are a true "Game of Thrones" fan then the episode title says it all.

'Game Of Thrones' Spoilers: Will Sansa Stark and Tyrion Lannister Get Married In Episode 7, 'The Bear And The Maiden Fair'?

"The Rains of Castamere" is considered the unofficial anthem of House Lannister and it is known by everyone in Westeros. The song recounts the brutal victory over the treasonous House Reyne of Castemere, Lord Tywin literally destroyed House Reyne after beating them in war when the attempted a rebellion. "The Rains of Castamere" serves as a smug reminder to all the Houses that those who cares Tywin Lannister, or any lion of House Lannister will be swiftly and completely destroyed.

Here is the refrain of the ominous song:

"And who are you, the proud lord said, that I must bow so low?

Only a cat of a different coat, that's all the truth I know.

In a coat of gold or a coat of red,a lion still has claws,

And mine are long and sharp, my lord, as long and sharp as yours.

And so he spoke, and so he spoke, that lord of Castamere,

But now the rains weep o'er his hall, with no one there to hear.

Yes now the rains weep o'er his hall, and not a soul to hear."

And who recently has betrayed the Hand of the King, Lord Tywin Lannister? Why of course, the Young Wolf, King of the North, Robb Stark. Robb Stark will meet the full force of Tywin Lannister's brutality in "The Rains of Castamere."

The official HBO synopsis of episode 9 is; "Robb presents himself to Walder Frey, and Edmure meets his bride. Jon faces his harshest test yet. Bran discovers a new gift. Daario and Jorah debate how to take Yunkai. House Frey joins with House Tully."

'Game Of Thrones' Season 3 Spoilers: Who Will Die In The Rest Of The Season?

And while the things in this synopsis are true, House Frey does not exactly join with House Tully but instead attempt to destroy it. Walder Frey extended the invitation of a wedding of his daughter to Lord Edmure Tully, but only as a rouse set up but none other than the ruthless Tywin Lannister. Robb Stark, Catelyn Stark, and Edmure Tully all walk into a trap that ends with the "Red Wedding."

Robb is killed by House Frey along with his direwolf Grey Wind, in a total sign of disrespect the honorable Frey's behead Robb and sew his head onto the body of Grey Wind and sew Grey Wind's head onto Robb's body. House Frey continues their damning work and slit Catelyn Stark's throat only to make a mockery of the Tully burial traditions and strip her naked and through her in the Trident River. Edmure Tully is taken hostage by the Freys.

“The Rains of Castamere” will certainly be an episode to remember, so be sure to tune to HBO on Sunday, June 2, at 9pm!
