"Game of Thrones" is set to return to HBO on April 6 for Season 4. The network just released the first trailer for the highly anticipated season, after carefully watching, we have five seriously good spoilers! HBO

“Game of Thrones” fans rejoice! Not only did HBO finally reveal the Season 4 release date, the network decided to send it’s dedicated fan base into a frenzy by quickly releasing a full length trailer. After carefully deciphering each frame of the 1:44 glimpse into the highly anticipated Season 4 of “Game of Thrones” there are some glaring inferences that we can take away from the video. First we are introduced to one of this season’s newest and most influential characters—The Red Viper. Also known by his true name, Prince Oberyn Martell of Dorne, the younger brother of the Lord of Sunspear, is apparently a fast learner in this game of thrones. Upon his arrival in King’s Landing, the Red Viper is already spitting venom, leaning close to Tyrion, he delivers a sinister message, “"Tell your father I'm here, and tell him the Lannisters aren't the only ones who pay their debts." The Red Viper is as fierce with his tongue as he is with his spear, fans were treated to a quick glimpse of a combative bout between the skilled fighter and another unfamiliar character-The Mountain. Fans have heard of this monstrous man before, Ser Gregor Clegane is the head of House Clegane which loyal serves House Lannister. So the Red Viper will get a battle with the Lions of Lannister in Season 4, however the Red Viper’s thirst for vengeance is far from quenched.

In addition to addition to the new faces in King’s Landing, there was notable absence of a very popular character from the Westeros capital. Sansa Stark, the heir to Winterfell and wife to Tyrion Lannister was not included in the Season 4 trailer! Her absence from the trailer is shocking, considering her unknowing role in the wedding of King Joffrey and Queen Margaery Tyrell. However another absent character that we have grown accustomed to seeing is Littlefinger, the former Master of Coin was last seen in Season 3 departing for the The Eyrie in an attempt to woo Lysa Tully. If he is successful in manipulating Jon Arryn’s widow, Littlefinger will become the prestigious Lord Protector of the Vale. While we didn’t see Sansa, we did see 3 of her siblings. While Arya seems to have kept up with her sword work, the now grown woman was pictured in the trailer in an uncharacteristic landscape, meaning it’s difficult to speculate at which point of her story Season 4 will cover. However, the complete opposite can be said for Sansa’s younger and crippled brother Bran Stark. Bran’s story through George R.R. Martin’s fourth book “A Feast For Crows” is slow moving and doesn’t really develop into anything of note, aside from a few mentions of his name. Therefore it was surprising to see Bran in the Season 4 trailer, but he positioning in front of the weir wood tree in a God’s Wood indicates that Bran’s story has in fact been condensed to incorporate his “A Dance with Dragons” storyline with the Season 4 timeline.

Finally our last Stark and last take away from the “Game of Thrones” Season 4 trailer is Jon Snow! Thank god he is back and sake within the Night’s Watch, but according to the trailer he won’t be safe for long, because the wildlings are moving South and attempting to breach the Wall and Castle Black. At the end of Season 3 both Jon Snow’s health and loyalty were questioned, however, it seems like he is back at full strength physically and has won back the trust of his brothers because it seems like Snow is rallying the men of the Night’s Watch to battle in the trailer.
