“Game of Thrones” will soon be experiencing more bloodshed, because in episode 9 “The Watchers on the Wall” a war is coming. Season 4 has been the biggest season, fans of “Game of Thrones” have watched, and like past season’s fans should prepare for episode 9 to be one of the best. In Season 1 episode 9 “Baelor,” fans watched as Ned Stark lost his head to Joffrey Baratheon, and then in Season 2, episode 9 “Blackwater” featured the infamous Battle of Blackwater Bay that saw to the demise of Stannis Baratheon’s fleet and his claim to the Iron Throne.

Most notably in Season 3, episode 9 “Rain of Castamere” saw to the end of Robb Stark, his wife Talisa and mother, Catelyn Stark in the “Red Wedding.” So now as episode 9 of Season 4 approaches, fans are eager to know just what will be the focus of the exciting installment. Now that HBO has released the synopsis for episode 9, “Watchers on the Wall,” fans finally have their answer.

The synopsis reads, “Jon Snow and the Night's Watch face a big challenge." The incredibly short and vague synopsis does not provide a lot of information but it does reveal one thing, episode 9 will focus on the Wall and the wildings. Mance Rayder, the King Beyond the Wall has been building up his army of Wildlings, and it seems like they are finally ready to attack Castle Black.

Jon Snow, and the Men of the Night’s Watch will have to defend the Wall and the residents that live south of the Wall and all that dwells beyond, including the White Walkers. Neil Marshall, the same director that traumatized fans with “Blackwater,” is responsible for “The Watchers on the Wall,” meaning no bloodshed will be spared. Marshall does not shy away from the goory details of war, and will most likely be revealing the stark realities of the battle of the Wildings vs. Night’s Watch.

The Wildlings will attack, but as Jon Snow predicted their attack is unorganized and vulnerable. Allowing the vastly outnumbered men of the Night’s Watch, to expose their weaknesses, and dismantle their southern progress. Even though the Night’s Watch will celebrate a victory over Mance Rayder, the battle is not an easy one, Jon Sow battles endlessly into the night against the large army.

Ygritte will be a part of the attack, and she will die tragically attempted to take Castle Black, Jon Snow is deeply saddened by her life’s end. The attack happens at night, so he doesn't realize she is dead until the morning comes, he is given slight comfort when he discovers he was not the one responsible for her death.
