Season 5 of “Game of Thrones,” consisting of ten episodes, began filming in July 2014 and concluded on December 12, 2014. This season will be based mostly on the fourth and fifth novels of the “A Song of Ice Fire” book series, which are titled “A Feast for Crows” and “Dance With Dragons.” David Benioff and D.B. Weiss return as executive producers and showrunners, having signed a new two-year contract with HBO in early 2014. The season will premiere April 12, 2015.

GOT has a very complex narrative, too many locations, too many family names, too many titles, and when you think you know everything about one of the main characters, he/she gets killed! So, in order for you to be able to follow the show’s new season, here are some of the top plot lines you’ll need to catch up with:

1. King Joffrey is finally dead

2. Tyrion was accused and trialed for King Joffrey’s death but he ran away with Varys and Jaime’s help but, not before murdering Tywin and Shae first

3. The only thing Cersei is holding on to is Tommen sitting atop the Iron Throne

4. The Tyrells, Margaery, Loras and Mace, are healthy and growing strong while Lannister’s power fades

5. Lysa Arryn gets pushed into the moon door by Little Finger, who seems to be stablish an odd relationship with Sansa. Little does he know that the eldest living member of the Stark family learned a lot from her time in the capital

6. Arya is still on her own, although, she almost crossed paths with her sister Sansa

7. Jon Snow had a couple encounters alongside “The Watchers on the Wall” but made a deal with Mance Rayder

8. The White Walkers are still the most dangerous threat to the Kingdom

9. Bran is in the North following his spiritual journey next to Hodor and Meera Reed

10. Last but not least, Daenerys is still building her army of slaves and trying to keep her dragons under control
